CEFE Team



 Dominik Roman Letz (1969)

dominican brother, catholic priest and botanist living in Zvolen, Slovakia, studied biology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Comenius University (Bratislava), where he also worked in the Department of Botany. His PhD thesis in systematic botany are focused on taxonomy of higher plants. He has joined the Order of Preachers (Dominicans) and graduated also at the Faculty of Theology of the Catholic University in Košice, Slovakia. Besides his pastoral work he is employed as scientist in the Institute of Botany of Slovak Academy of Sciences.


In CEFE he will be working as coordinator and on topics as creation and environmental theology, liturgy, biodiversity.

 

Responsible for following countries: Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine.


 

 

 

 Daniel Lešinský (1974)

has graduated as environmental engineer at the Faculty of Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Technical University in Zvolen, Slovakia. PhD focused on ecotoxicology and biodegradable materials, partly done at the IFA-Tulln institute in Austria, has been finished in 2004. For several years he is active in NGOs sector coordinating different projects targeted to environmental protection, quality of life, work with young people etc.

In CEFE he will be working on topics as (eco)agriculture, environmental & waste management and sustainable economy.

 

Responsible for following countries: Belgium, France, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom.

 

 

 

 Martin Ceľuch (1977)

has graduated as forestry engineer at the Forestry Faculty, Technical University in Zvolen, Slovakia. After his study he was working in various research projects targeting to nature protection, particularly to bats. In the present time, he teaches ecology and ecological monitoring at the Slovak Agriculture University in Nitra, Slovakia.

In CEFE he will be working as coordinator and on topics as creation and environmental theology, liturgy, biodiversity.

 

Responsible for following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey.

 

 

 

 Matúš Dobeš (1980)

geographer living in Žilina, Slovakia. After studies of regional geography in Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, he finished his regional studies in Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. Until the end of August 2005 he worked as project manager in Regional Energy Management Agency in Žilina. Nowadays he teaches geography at the Bilingual Grammar School in the same town. Besides playing bass guitar, Matúš is interested much in nature, environmental and geographic features.

In CEFE he will be working on topics as sustainable energy/energetics, land-scape planning and rural development.

 

Responsible for following countries: Belarus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Norway, Poland, Sweden.

 

 

 

 Beatrice van Saan-Klein (1962)

has graduated in biology at the University of Duesseldorf and holds a PhD from the University of Trier, both in Germany. For her doctoral thesis on heavy metals in plants and soils from beech forests in the vicinity of a smelter, she got a fellowship of the Cusanuswerk which is related to the German Bishops Conference. With a fellowship of the German Forschungsgemeinschaft, she continued her ecosystem research at the forest science department of the Texas A&M University (USA) and at the botanical departments of the Universities of Ulm and Bonn (Germany). Her ethical studies on environmental questions are centered at the Catholic Social Institut of the Archdioceses of Cologne and at the Clearingstelle Church and Environment in Benediktbeuern, especially with a project focused on sustainable agriculture. Since 2000, she is participating in the consultations of the Environmental Delegates of the European Episcopal Conferences.

In CEFE she will be working as a coordinator for best practices projects and on topics of ecology and creation theology.
